Believe
it or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I shed my tears during the song "If we hold
on together" I never felt so emotionally like the moment during the
closing ceremony. That moment was so touching my heart. Hands in
hands, slowly tear drops on my checks, so overwhelming because both
singers are young and beautiful but one was singing from her heart
that I could feel and touch her heart and she touched mine as well.
Another was at the Gala Dinner when I saw IPP Naiyarath was called
on stage that she is nominated to be Area Governor. I am really proud
of her because we are very close relationship in both work and TMs
matters.
Another was the registration team leaded by CC Thiyada with CC
Pranee. I feel the same to CC Pranee as CC Naiyarat because the three
of us are in close relationship. I am so happy that we can talk and
walk happily together during our journey on the Toastmasters path. We
will never walk alone in Toastmasters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The rest of my impression are mostly the same like the others.
Great job, well prepared big fun, meeting friends, good food both for
brain and stomach. Million rounds of applause to all the Committee
especially to Mr. Chair - ATM Dr. Veeraphan and Lady Co-Chair - DTM
Panomporn.
My honour to be in your team,
Khanitha Sundarapakshin, CTM CL

My comments on the Toastmasters International District 80 Annual Convention held in Bangkok during 28-30 May 2010 It is my first time to participate in a Toastmasters International Convention. The Convention is very good in general, and I would like to congratulate the Organizing Committee from Thailand Toastmaster Clubs. The best part for me was the Prepared Speech Contest. Almost all speakers are very capable and experienced. The content of speeches is worth listening to. Various techniques on speech delivery are well presented which the audience can both enjoy listening to and learn from them at the same time. The question that was asked in the Table Topics Contest “What is the question?” astonished some of the contestants. Though, it is short and clear, I am not sure whether it is a suitable challenge or not. I found that some the workshops are both educating and entertaining. The workshops by DTM Loghandra Krishasamy “Using the 9 Basic Emotions for Audience Engagement”, “Triggering the Public Speaking Genius in You” and “Creating Magic in Your Slide Presentation” by Enrique Tsou are on my list. Unfortunately a few interesting workshops were cancelled like, ” Assertion not Aggression” Another event which impressed me is the Farewell Ceremony in the Closing Ceremony. The song “If we hold on together” with all participants holding hands together gave such a special memorable moment. However, a farewell with the song “Auld Lang Syne” did swing my mood into sadness. Some experienced toastmasters sat in the same table with me gave their opinion that there were too many awards given so that it became like a top sales achiever awarding event. It appeared to me that the location of the hotel was satisfactory. Good food and convenient for commuting. Facility in hotel is good but the inconsistent sound system in the Ballroom. Overall, I would say it is a very successful convention. Congratulations again to the Organizing Committee!!! |

It was a truly moving closing ceremony! especially when the songs were sung and our Hong Kong and Macau friends were bade goodbye... Thank you for the convention Thank you for your kindness and knowledge extended to our CU students during the past months Thank Dr Veerapan and Khun Panomporn for inviting our students to the convention And thank you all for your friendship and for being exemplary toastmasters! PS I consider everyone entering the contests yesterday a WINNER. There are so many things we can learn from them. So, I have one suggestion: what about holding an extraordinary meeting and call the event, “Learn from the Winners!” The objectives of the meeting would be to recognize the outstanding qualities of speakers and their speeches as well as to practice our evaluation skills. Cheers to Toastmasters Thailand ka! Wilai |

I would like to share my comment as a member of the convention working team. One week before the convention, we had only 30 delegates from overseas confirmed to join the convention. I was glad that we all agreed to go on with the convention. After the situation was dissolved, the delegates kept coming in. Finally we had more than a hundred delegates joining the convention. It's the smart idea of our convention chair to arrange airport pick-up for all delegates to ensure their safety to the venue! This is my first time to work in the convention organizing team. I was assigned to work wth CC Thiyada in the Register Team. Working with the committee in such a convention is not easy at all, since there is no official authority as we have in a company. It requires a lot of leadership & interpersonal skills to encourage & get support from committee members. I have learnt from her how to be a good leader, always standing out in the front to do everything. She planned and managed to get help from friends. It's a good experience! |

What I loved about the convention was feeling "So relieved after the
convention"
My prayers were answered. My only regret that I did miss the Convention sessions after lunch on Sunday as I got sick. |
