Title: “Joke is not a Joke”
ACS Sangchai shared his experience of tips & techniques of delivering the humorous speech.
He told us to:
“Practice each joke until it becomes as natural as your own story.”
“Tell the joke with no hint of self-consciousness – the more relaxed the joke, the more relaxed you will feel “
“Start building your skills by telling a joke story, embellish or exaggerate to hold interest & build character, timing to twist the story & rhythm – pause for audience‘s laugh.”
Some helpful tips:
- Do not memorize the joke word by word
- Find the right joke
- Pause at the right moment (golden pause)
- Faces (play with your face)
- Timing, character & rhythm are all important
- Emotion – success (leave all stress behind, enjoy the story & relax)
